Why do we like this?

Oliver Tree is a producer, singer-songwriter, rapper, and filmmaker based in Los Angeles. This is the first time I have ever heard of him, and I will definitely be following his future projects after having found "Soulmother, I Love You" while trawling the wonderful land of SoundCloud.

Featuring childhood friend Getter, the track is a wonderfully downtempo, electronic gem featuring ambient soundscapes, glitchy, soulful vocal samples and a Flume/What So Not-esque vibe which I am wholly in favour of. 

"I started writing and recording "Soul Mother" in a rainy apartment in San Francisco in 2012. It sat in my hard drive wasteland for another 2 years, until I sent Getter a file of ideas last Spring. "Soul Mother" was his favorite idea out of everything I sent," says Oliver of the track.
