Why do we like this?
Norweigan electronic popsters Röyksopp have quite a few tracks we've considered for our Old School Wednesday section (hey, they don't all have to be old school R&B!). So we decided to pick from their 2001 album Melody AM, which is an essential for all collections.
This intelligently produced electronica is perhaps best represented by the track "Eple," which personifies Röyksopp's brand of "cool Scandinavia." This is an electronic take to the British trip-hop movement that's absolutely perfect for soundtracking pretty much anything -- as attested to by the songs use in commercials for Apple and Volvo.
