Considering that he's opened for Bonobo and XXYYXX, wooed crowds at Big Day Out, OutsideIn, and Splendour in the Grass, and constructed a really impressive online fan base, it's almost strange to think that Adelaide's Oisima hasn't even released a full album yet.
That's all set to change mid-2015 though, with his debut offering Nicaragua Nights. Newly signed to Aus label Create/Control, today I'm excited to premiere his new track "Sun of Truth" featuring Perth's Mei Saraswati. The track shows off his flair for blending jazzy licks with late-night grooves, emotion-filled melodies with bluesy rhythms.
Layers, layers, layers galore! It's almost hard to keep track of everything going on. From the hip-hop synth loops to the raunchy saxophones, from Saraswati's hypnotic vocals to the airy flute trills, there isn't one single dull moment here.
A wholly unique, technically brilliant piece from the Adelaide producer, I cannot wait to hear more in the new year.
