Why do we like this?
When one of your favorite producers is remixed by one of your other favorite producers, you're bound to be excited. This was the case for me today when Ta-Ku's remix of Oisima's recent single, "Everything About Her," went live.
Adelaide-based Oisima is quickly becoming one of the most well-regarded producers in Australia. With his debut album Nicaragua Nights due out in the coming months, he's sure to be recognized on a more international stage as well, akin to the man who's remixed this track, the prolific Ta-Ku.
Given Ta-Ku's remixes are often of quite dissimilar acts, I was interested to see how he'd go working on something within his own genre. While he's kept a similar structure to the original, he's sharpened it slightly in parts with the use of a sampling and vocal dissection, using the once smooth tones of Annabel Weston as a percussive tool.
They're not only talented, but also generous -- you can pick this remix up for free over at Oisima's Bandcamp.
