Why do we like this?
The best part of taking a vacation from the typhoon of new music that sweeps through the blogosphere daily is that it reminds me of all the good music already collecting e-dust in my laptop. OHO first turned heads a few months back with the release of their EP, Land of the Happy, a project self-produced in a Paris apartment. Granted, it was not an obscene number of heads, but that's why I am here.
"Free to Flee" is a good introductory track for getting to know this duo. There is Oho, who sings, and Paul, who does the instrumentation. They met in Calcutta, India and their influences include Morcheeba, Cocoon, Zero 7, Portishead, Dido, Radiohead and Air.
"Free to Flee" is an enjoyable slice of electro-pop that reaffirms that wherever these two are making music, it's the land of the talented.
