A friend put me onto OHKE last month, and in true Donna fashion, I listened on repeat and then promptly filled up my drafts in excitement.
Naturally, I didn't actually get to the post until a month later, but better late than never!
OHKE are a neo-soul duo from South London made up of 18 year old multi-instrumentalists Glen Leach & Leila McNeelance. The pair formed around 6 months ago, and have just released their debut 3-track EP Stay.
Stating influences such as from the likes of D'Angelo and Prince, as well as Tom Misch and Jordan Rakei, OHKE create neo-soul, jazz inspired music with a gorgeous female / male vocal chemistry which I just can't resist.
The production is simple, unaffected, and charming, with well placed melodic interludes and an infectious bounce.
