Ohbijou is an orchestral indie pop band from Toronto, swiftly paving their way through their country and abroad with their third album, Metal Meets.
Ohbijou has something really special going on. The lead singer's vocals are so angelic and rare that you can't help but notice them right off the bat. Each song is carried so smoothly with the help of singer Casey Mecija's voice. Ohbijou consists of six people: drummer, bassist, guitar/vocals, violin, cello, and keyboardist. This combination has flourished into a sophisticated symphony of sweet ambience and lush beauty.
When Mecija was asked if she felt as though Metal Meets marked a maturation for the band, she had this to say:
"I would hope it sounds more mature, for sure. We're coming into our age. I feel we welcome what all this experience of playing music brings to us because it only enhances our ability to play music and traverse this music industry in an open-minded way." -exclaim.ca
If you're suddenly feeling the frigidness of late fall/early winter set in, I'd suggest you get yourself a copy of Metal Meets. It's layered, warming, and soft: everything you look for in these colder seasons.
