Why do we like this?
"Desmond's Empire" is the first track we've heard from O'Flynn, but the British producer has already cultivated a sound that's entirely his own.
He layers African vocals over an accordion and some more familiar sounding percussion to create a unique sound that doesn't quite fit into any genre. Perhaps the best comparison is Romare, who also molds African influences into something special.
With support already coming from Four Tet, it looks like O'Flynn is here to stay. Blip Discs are releasing the record, and you can get a copy direct on Bandcamp.
