This song had me within seconds. That grainy synth in the begging stole my attention, and Ofelia K's wispy vocals kept it from beginning to end. When she returned to the blogosphere with "White T-Shirt," I had high hopes for her, and they've honestly been met.
"My producer/co-writer Dr Rosen Rosen played me a track he was messing around with that had a beautiful organ falling slightly in and out of tune. I was really obsessed with it and we began building “Gone” around that part. I love the sadness of the subject matter, mixed with the optimism of the instrumentation."
Doctor Rosen Rosen has produced for Kay and Meg Myers, along with producing an official remix for Lady Gaga. Despite how impressive all of those noteworthy accomplishments are, I'm more obsessed with his work with Ofelia than anything. With a sound like this, it's hard not to fall in love her music.
