Well okay then! ODESZA's new EP My Friends Never Die just slapped me across the face. I meandered around for a good half an hour trying to pick a song to give y'all, and I'm still second guessing - that's how good the album is.
The chilled out dudes from Seattle just put together a super stoney EP that would have Flume running for his munchies. Each track is full of opulent life, cutting and filling samples into perfect shapes, creating a beautiful collage of music.
The song that I chose to feature (after much deliberation) is "Without You," which at times might sound a little familiar. That's because you're hearing Gotye's "Somebody I Used To Know" -- and remarkably, it's not in an annoying way.
ODESZA's latest EP My Friends Never Die is currently available for free download on their website. And FYI, the title track "My Friends Never Die" features some piano chords from Dr. Dre's "Still D.R.E." in a sexy way. Peep it here.
