Why do we like this?
Nigerian-born, London-based Obongjayar is one of the most intriguing voices I have heard in some time. His wide-ranging sound is not easy to classify.
"Never Change" features percussive touches from Yussef Dayes and credits production to Miles James.
Lyrically, Obongjayar celebrates childhood innocence and youthful open mindedness on this song. He reminisces to scenic younger days, casts warning at the glorification of growing up (and "adulting"), while fervently clinging to a fleeting sense of innocence.
You can find more of Obongjayar's compelling work on the Everything is Recorded project, and view the equally impressive music video for "Never Change" here.
