Why do we like this?

I love it when good, original music comes out of South Africa. So many artists here (and throughout the world, for that matter), find inspiration from others -- often to the point that they lose focus on the local flavor right in front of them.

Fortunately, OBie Mavuso hasn't fallen for that trap. Instead, she's harnessed a fantastic South African sound that will no doubt stand out as unique and worthy of listening internationally. It's little wonder that Red Bull Studios (Cape Town) have given her their backing...
