Wow, it's been a really good week for incredible, unusual electronic music.
Hailing from Tel Aviv and now based in Brooklyn, this is O Mer. We've previously covered "Crazy Flames," but "Now I'm Alive" sounds remarkably different. It has an over-exaggerated, melodramatic and yet kind of moody atmosphere. I can't stop listening to it.
With the accentuated jumps throughout the vocal loops, the shuffling rhythms, occasionally heavy synths and stringent rhythms, each and every layer has been carefully crafted to grab your full attention - and it worked.
Each time the heavier elements come in, they dip their toes a little further. Each phrase grows more intense, but each time, it finds its way back to that original vocal layer.
I love discovering new artists like this. If you're digging this tune, be sure to check out everything else on O Mer's SoundCloud.
