Why do we like this?
I happened to stumble upon Novo Amor on SoundCloud a while back, and it hasn't let me go since. Whatever Ali Lacey, aka Novo Amor, has done with this track, he's gotten it right. It's a perfect example of one of those songs that attempt (and succeed) to draw you in as you listen more; "From Gold" intensifies gradually as it plays, and by the time it ends, you wonder, perplexed, why it didn't intensify any further!
There's always a debate about whether the digital revolution was good for the quality of music, but hey, the fact that you can find a song you love listening to composed by a random person across the globe certainly gives digital music's proponents a strong case.
You can download this track on Bandcamp.
