Let's get all futuristically hot and bothered shall we? NOVAA, 19-year-old singer, songwriter, and producer of swirling electronic sounds, has a new song called "Sex" to do the trick.
The always colorful (currently blue-bobbed) German embraces her extraterrestrial imagination on the track, tossing mangled bodily desires into a crystalline hurricane of twisting synths and icy echoes:
"I want to wear my heart around my neck
So I can put it in your hand
There’s nothing I can feel
Still something I can give
I want to glue my hand to yours
So you can take me everywhere
There is no place I will be
But you can own my cage"
What is sex if not breaking yourself down into pieces and handing them over to someone for better or for worse? I love NOVAA's unapologetic vulnerability here, and I think it works wonderfully in tandem with the spacey soundscape she's created.
"Sex" will be included on her upcoming 9-track EP Stolen Peaches, which you can download in its entirety next month for free.
