Melbourne's indie-pop scene is burgeoning, with bands like the
Temper Trap and
Strange Talk already being featured heavily on Indie Shuffle.
Northeast Party House has all the ingredients for this same success. An incredibly dancey sound, silky lead vocals, and a frantic live show provide the perfect platform for the 6-piece to build on.
Having honed their talents playing warehouse parties and small local venues, they gained notoriety for their high energy performances. A number of illustrious support slots followed, including tours with The Go! Team, Does it Offend You Yeah?, and
Kimbra.
"Empires," a single off their debut four-track EP, is a track designed to get you moving. Complete with sparkling guitar riffs, driving percussion and staggered, looped vocals, there isn't much you can do but dance to this one.
An energetic stage presence is one thing, but without real talent it all amounts to nothing. Luckily, Northeast Party House has a lot of both.
