Sydney band Noire has just released their third single "Just Like Honey," a beautiful and understated offering of shoegaze-y indie pop. The atmosphere has a dark, goth-like quality, while the melody is warm, inviting you in.
With an air of romantic sentimentality and just a hint of nostalgia, I found myself swept up by the introverted, yet evocative atmosphere. Sure, it's nothing ground-breaking, but it doesn't need to be. The vocals are breathy and sophisticated in their intimacy, while the rich bass line and bright guitars create a diverse soundscape of tones and color.
"Just Like Honey" follows up "Those Days" and "Pilgrims," and if you're in Sydney, you can head to their single launch on July 2 at The Cliff Dive.
