The forward-thinking model of nobody nobody’s debut, “SAD!,” finds its impact not only in the evolution of bedroom pop, but in New York City’s community of aspiring students. Half of the song’s proceeds through the end of September are being donated to Building Beats, an organization creating digital music programs for New York City’s low-income and minority youth neighborhoods. Tapping into their passion for music, Building Beats teaches the students leadership, entrepreneurial, and life skills by providing resources to help start their careers.
Championing music that goes beyond the norm, nobody nobody’s strong debut reaches the audience always ready for what’s ahead of the curve. The duo, Wyatt and Austin, met in elementary school in Santa Cruz, CA, but didn’t start producing together until 2019. With “SAD!” originating out of Austin’s bedroom, the process moved quickly due to the natural synergy between the two.
nobody nobody’s debut embodies the influence of music, whether it’s heard in the world of genres, or the world of music students in NYC. It shows what music can do when there are spirited visionaries behind it.
