Why do we like this?

Canadian favourite Noble Oak has been releasing a steady stream of singles in the build up to his forthcoming new album Collapsing Together.

While still retaining the dreamy quality that earmarked his earlier work, previous singles "Something More" and "Out There" have a throwback feel to them, influenced by the synth-pop sounds of the 80s.

"Distance Gone" is no different, with the contemplative synth married with a glorious old school guitar riff and probing percussion. Patrick Fiore's delicate falsetto floats over the lush instrumentation, making "Distance Gone" another top notch release from the multi-instrumentalist that's certainly worth your time.

Collapsing Together is set for release August 25.
