This is all kinds of eerie and strange and mysterious -- it might take a couple of listens to fully grasp each layer, but it's worth it.
A minimal and fantastical offering from Japanese artist Noah, this ambient and sensual track evokes a feeling of walking through a hazy, damp forest filled with towering, blackened trees. As the deep beat and vaguely-R&B rhythm slowly takes shape, the foggy air begins to clear... but not entirely. We're shrouded in mystery and uncertainty from start to finish, but the uncertainty is more innocently curious than fearful.
"Flexion," alongside recent single "Flaw," features on Noah's newly released debut album Sivutie, a Finnish word meaning "side road." A unique and intriguing blend of experimental electronica with understated R&B and trip hop, I highly recommend listening to the whole thing -- preferably on a snowy day. More details here.
