Why do we like this?
I've been trying to think of a way to tell you how excellent this new Nils Frahm song is. Self-titled mag called it spellbinding. For me, it's hard to put into words. I think Steve Martin explained my emotions best: "Talking about music is like dancing about architecture." I guess this time I can't do Nils justice. Just listen to the captivating synth for yourself.
The song is off of Spaces, a new concept album -- what Nils refers to as a field recording project -- including past live performances compiled as an experiment. As Nils explained recently in Interview,
Even out of context, this album will give you goosebumps reminiscent of a live performance. Take some time to appreciate that building beat, close your eyes and pretend you're there.
Marvel after marvel from the people at Erased Tapes. This album drops November 18th on CD/2xLP/Digital, preorder links for US and EU available now.

"For Spaces, I have this argument with myself: Is it, or is it not possible to isolate sound recording from live concerts, put it out of context, where it has happened, and then put it into a medium where people can listen to it whenever they want"” while they're working, while they're cleaning, while they're having dinner."
