Some of you may have been bumpin’ to this track last summer, but today it is born again, my fellow Indie Shuffle friends. I'm gonna go ahead and coin this the Summer anthem of 2014.
A collaborative project between Blake Sennett (formerly of Rilo Kiley and The Elected) and Jarrod Gorbel (former frontman of The Honorary Title), along with the rest of the crew, Night Terrors of 1927 recently toured with The Colourist, and was named one of the bands in Esquire’s, “The SXSW 2014 Bands You Need To Hear” last month.
This Wax Nostalgic remix of "Dust and Bones" is off their recently released Guilty Pleas EP and it is epic. Press play and you’re instantly transported to a tropical pink sand beach in rhythm heaven. The wild and carefree chorus of voices singing on the entirety of the track only makes it that more contagious. Sway your hips to a tropical beat, and let your ears surrender to the sweet serenade of sunshine and ocean waves. The lead singer’s voice anchors it all down, with a certain raspiness resulting in a perfect contrast.
Rumor has it that the group is collaborating with producers Andrew Dawson (Kanye West, fun.) and Ben H. Allen (Washed Out, Walk The Moon, Cut Copy) on a full-length album to be released later this year -- enter squeals of joy. Check out the band’s tour dates on their site here.
