Night Beats Crypt

Night Beats just released an acoustic version of “Crypt” from their Outlaw R&Balbum. I adore when artists do this. They strip the song naked to its bones. It’s this shedding of the extra, leaving behind something unfiltered, untouched, unpolished. It has to be a vulnerable thing for an artist to do.

This acoustic version highlights the guitar strumming in a much more prominent way against Danny Lee Blackwell’s moody voice, which I feel makes the song more tender.

If you haven’t already listened to their 2021 Outlaw R&B album, do it. It’s a solid psychedelic rock album written during the pandemic and California wildfires. You can hear the beautiful chaos in their work.
