Chet Baker will always be better than Chet Faker, but he's not really worth comparing to Nick Murphy.
Nick Murphy broke onto the scene in 2011 with his own unique take on Blackstreet's "Nodiggity," under his original moniker Chet Faker, and he was a breath of fresh indie electronic neo-soul air. He's since paved the way for many acts who make music on the verges of R&B, alternative electronic, modern-disco, and soul -- and has put out a lot of really good music too.
Nick Murphy relinquished his Chet Faker aka in 2016, and this single "Sanity" comes off his first full-length project released under his birth name. His highly-anticipated second album Run Fast Sleep Naked is due out April 26. Both the single and the music video arrived today, and it's all very exciting.
