Zayn Malik, now mononymously known as Zayn, released his debut solo single "Pillow Talk" on January 29. In the one day it has been online, it has reached almost ten million plays on YouTube and as reported by NME the song has shot to the number one spot on the iTunes Charts in 60 different countries around the world.

Malik started his pop journey at the UK X-Factor in 2010 when he auditioned as a solo singer.  After being eliminated from the competition, Simon Cowell brought him back with four other contestants, stood them next to each other and called them One Direction.  In March 2015, after four years, four albums, and numerous accolades (including 19 Teen Choice Awards) Malik left One DIrection.

"Pillow Talk" is an unabashed foray into the world of grown-up song-writing (no prizes for guessing the song's subject matter).  Malik previously stated that he had been blocked from injecting any of his R'n'B influences into One Direction songs, so "Pillow Talk" is a much more seductive affair than any of his former band's up-beat pop hits.

Zayn's debut solo album Mind Of Mine is scheduled for a release in the spring of this year.  You can listen to "Pillow Talk" below.
