English rockers Wild Beasts will release their new album Boy King on August 5 via Domino Records. It will be the band's fifth studio album and serve as a follow up to 2014's Present Tense, which reached the top-ten on the British charts.
Boy King was produced by John Congleton (St. Vincent, Swans, The War on Drugs) and is available for preorder now.
Wild Beasts has also shared the albums first single, "Get My Bang" and a video to accompany it.
In a press release for the album, frontman Hayden Thorpe seem to give the album a rather sexual angle.
"It became apparent that that guitar almost became the character within the songs, that phallic character, the all-conquering male. I’m letting my inner Byron fully out, I thought I’d tucked him away, but he came screaming back like the Incredible Hulk. ... I think Boy King is an apocalyptic record. It’s about swimming in the abyss. When you think about sex, you’ve got to think about death, they’re one and the same."
