Australian future-electronic producer What So Not has hinted at a surprise appearance at US music festival Coachella, which opens this weekend.

In the lead-up to the festival, hype has been steadily growing regarding the four “surprise” slots on the DoLab stage. Fans are speculating that there might be an appearance from Sasha & Digweed, but festival organisers have remained secretive by not confirming anything. The official Coachella line-up sent fans crazy, and it seems that the anticipation for these unannounced performances is just as wild.

However, there may be one less surprise following What So Not’s Facebook post this week. “I may be doing a surprise set at Coachella tomorrow. I may be bringing some special guests. I may be premiering new music,” the artist (aka Chris Emerson) wrote. Nothing is confirmed, but fans have little reason to doubt the reliability of this post.

What So Not was a collaborative project between Emerson (also known by his producer name Emoh Instead) and Flume (Harley Streten) until late February 2015 when Streten announced on Facebook that he would be leaving the duo. Since then, Emerson has built What So Not into one of the world’s most respected electronic acts. His May 2015 release "Gemini", featuring Future Classic artist George Maple (Jessica Higgs) peaked at 52 on the Australian singles chart.
