At my university, there are flags on lampposts that highlight important alumni - it is my goal to one day have a flag dedicated to me. Sia's gone one step above that - she now has a school named after her!
The new music institute at the University of Adelaide in Australia is called the Sia Furler Institute for Contemporary Music and Media. The institute will prepare students for careers in contemporary music, film, and digital media.
Sia describes the experience as "very exciting and humbling," The Guardian reports. "I want to say thank you to the University of Adelaide." Although Sia herself never studied at the university, she is an Adelaide native, and has given the school permission to use her name.
Sia's seventh album, This Is Acting, came out in January this year, and her most recent music video for her song "Cheap Thrills" is below.
