The Twin Peaks revival just seems to keep getting better and better.

The Showtime series, which is set for release in early 2017, has just added a whole host of new faces to an already impressive cast list. Among them are musicians Trent Reznor, Eddie Vedder, Sky Ferreira and Sharon Van Etten who have all been confirmed to appear on the show.

The musicians join a list of 200, which is already overflowing with talent. They will feature alongside Michael Cera, Naomi Watts, Amanda Seyfried and frequent David Lynch collaborator Laura Dern. And as well as these new additions, the majority of the old cast will return to reprise their roles.

The cult classic was created and directed by David Lynch alongside Mark Frost will return 25 years after its initial run ended on network television.

“Showtime was the first and only network we spoke to about this… they loved the show,” Frost revealed in a recent interview.

"David will direct the whole thing which will total more than the originally announced nine hours,” Showtime president David Nevins explained.

"This damn fine cup of coffee from Mark and David tastes more delicious than ever. Totally worth the extra brewing time and the cup is even bigger than we expected."
