Fans of The Shins woke up to some interesting sounds, coming from the official Instagram account of the Portland, Oregon-based band. The American indie rock band released an interesting six second mix of sounds early this morning. You can see for yourself down below.
The band is prone to long hiatuses and this instance has been no different. It took five years between Wincing the Night Away and 2012's Port to Morrow, and it's now been about four years since hearing any new material.
The last real Shins music we've heard of was from Zach Braff's film Wish I Was Here in mid-June of 2014.
However, lead singer James Mercer has been hard at work on his own combining his talents with award-winning music producer, Danger Mouse. The duo formed Broken Bells and released the Grammy-nominated self-titled debut album in 2010 along with After the Disco in 2014.
There hasn't been any official announcements regarding a new album from the Shins, but it's plain to see something's in the woodworks.
