It’s been a memorable past few days for the lads of The 1975. On Friday February 26th, their sophomore album, I Like It When You Sleep, for You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware of It, was officially released. And by Friday March 4th, it skyrocketed to No. 1 on the U.K. Charts.
The achievement serves as The 1975’s second consecutive number one album - their self-titled debut hit the top spot upon its release back in 2013. According to Billboard, the album has received a combined chart sales of 58,000 for its premiering week. This No. 1 spot is also responsible for the dethroning Adele’s 25, with roughly a 6,500 difference.
But being 2 for 2 in number one albums isn't the only celebratory news. The English rock band’s individually premiered songs have also been steady on the singles charts. Their latest, “The Sound” had a reported climb of 39-24.
The album is not available on Spotify until May 11, but you can purchase the album on iTunes.
