TEEF Records Announce Compilation Album With All Proceeds To OXFAM

Tommy Faith, Australian Sound Doctrine blogger and head guru at TEEF Records, has just announced the release of Imperium In Imperio II, a compilation 18-track album packed with unreleased electronic tracks from Australian artists. All proceeds from the album are donated to OXFAM’s Syrian refugee appeal, which assists 13.5 million people who are currently without access to food, water and sanitation.

The album title translates as ‘Empire Within An Empire’, referring to artists who are quickly and steadily building their own kingdoms within the Australian music scene. “We curated this collection around artists that we believe represent an important cross-section of the diverse spectrum of left-of-center Australian music,” Faith says in a press release. “We’re hoping that you’ll find some gems from artists that you already love and make some new favourites in the process while also supporting an incredibly worthy cause.”

The album includes the likes of Sampa The Great (who supported Kendrick Lamar earlier this year), Woodes, Alice Ivy and more – all up-and-coming Australian artists who’ve been making waves with their unique and catchy production styles. TEEF released a similar album last year, including tracks from Collarbones and Yon Yonson, to raise money and awareness for OXFAM’s Nepal earthquake appeal.

The official trailer and cover art was designed and produced by Sydney-based artist Jonathan Key, who layered projections within projections to capture the nature of a kingdom built within a community – an "Empire Within An Empire." The album is released on July 29, but you can pre-order through Bandcamp here.
