There are presidential candidates that seem to enjoy music like John Kasich, who promised to reunite Pink Floyd if elected. And there is a presidential candidate that is a fan of music, but music is not a fan of him *cough* Donald Trump *cough* as made evident from Adele.

Then there is Ted Cruz, who seems to just not care about music in general.

When recently asked by Head Count about his favorite musician, Cruz looked at the camera, chuckled, and walked away.

In this generation of voters, music is more than important. Music is part of daily life. Kasich has the right idea in promising a Pink Floyd reunion. Bernie Sanders speaks to the youth through live music events performed by artists like Red Hot Chili Peppers and Vampire Weekend, while buddying up with Run The Jewels' Killer Mike. Even Trump played Adele songs before being told that he can't play her music without permission.

Cruz could've answered with ANY musician's name. Even if he said Soulja Boy, it would've just been funny, right? But answering with a chuckle? Not a great idea if you're trying to speak to the new generation of voters.

You can be the judge. Senator Ted Cruz appears at 2:24.
