Star Wars has taken over the film industry. Most recently, The Force Awakens blew away box office sales, ratings and new generations of fans across the world. In the wake of such a powerhouse film, an the idea for a special album was conceived by none other than legendary producer, Rick Rubin.
Rick Rubin has worked with major artists ranging from Johnny Cash, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tom Petty, and The Avett Brothers to Jay-Z, Eminem, Kanye West, and Adele. Rubin's résumé is endless, but he has just added another record to that list, a Star Wars album.
So, what exactly is a Star Wars album?
Star Wars Headspace, the name of the Rubin-produced album, includes songs created using samples of the iconic sounds from the film franchise. Basically, these soon to be released EDM tracks and their beat drops will be created by R2-D2's bleep-blooping, Darth Vader's asthma, and Chewbacca's abnormal speech impediment. Rubin also recruited DJ/producers Flying Lotus, A-Trak, Baauer, Kaskade, Rustie, GTA, and more for this creation.
