A word to the wise, do not do your taxes at Coachella. This may sound like common sense, but according to the Orange County Register, 10 people at weekend one of Coachella tried to file their taxes at the event.
I can't say that the first thing I'd think after seeing Jack U is, "Man, I forgot to drop off my taxes at the Coachella post office. Let's head over after Skrillex drops "Where are U Now,"" but for some people this is real life.
As you'd hopefully expect, Coachella cannot legally handle your government issued tax forms. As it turns out the Coachella post office is not a real post office, but a middleman who will stamp your letters with Coachella branding and ship them from the post office in Indio.
Although they won't accept government documents, the Coachella post office is no stranger to sending off odd items. The OC Register caught with up the post master herself, Megan Hampton, who says she has sent out everything from drunk postcards to Sweden to wedding invitations.
Luckily, Tax day in the US was April 18th, so hopefully during weekend two Hampton will be spared of these awkward encounters.
