Sky Ferreira fans have long been waiting for her sophomore album Masochism, having originally been announced way back in July 2014. Now, finally, it looks as though the wait may soon be over.
The LA-born artist has taken to Instagram to tell fans that she's been hard at work on new material, and that "in 2016 you will hear it." The post also hints at recent struggles with both physical and mental health, overcoming fear and making positive changes to her life. She notes that while the wait has been long, she's got a reason - "If I was to do it any sooner I either would have been compromising myself & anyone listening. I would have had to put out music that wasn’t true or a message I would not want to put out into the universe."
She goes on to apologise to fans for being "really vague" about new music, before thanking them for their patience and support.
Ferreira released her debut album Night Time, My Time back in October 2013.
