2015 proved to be a big year for rising artist Shamir. With his debut album Ratchet landing on multiple year-end best of lists, including likes of Pitchfork, NME and Spin, now the year's carry-over success is setting 2016 off to a great start for the singer.

Recently announced to play at major music festivals, Coachella, Sasquatch and Bonnaroo, the 21 year-old artist will also join multi-platinum group Duran Duran for part of their upcoming North American Tour. Several of those dates, on which Shamir is set to play, will also feature CHIC with Nile Rogers as supporting acts, making for a seriously impressive lineup, bringing the the two disco-influenced groups together with a modern act.

Following the news of upcoming tour with Duran Duran, Shamir paid tribute to the band by covering their 1982 hit, “Hungry Like the Wolf,” which was released on his YouTube page earlier today. While Shamir is known for his ebullient disco-house tracks, he strips down the originally upbeat pop-song into an remarkable acoustic triumph.
