Pop artist Sam Smith just won a Golden Globe for James Bond theme song "The Writing’s On The Wall." As we discovered late last year, however, he wasn't the only candidate considered to pen the tune. Radiohead surprised us all by releasing their own version, titled "Spectre," igniting hopes and dreams that a new album is on its way soon.

Following the Golden Globes, Smith and song co-writer Jimmy Napes answered questions at a press release. One journalist asked Smith if he was surprised that Radiohead’s frontman Thom Yorke had released the alternate version.

As you'll see by this video posted to Facebook by Variety, the results are painful, to say the least.

It’s clear as hell that Smith was immediately dumbfounded by the question. He had to turn to his Napes, asking, “Thom Yorke?” to which Napes obviously replied, “Radiohead.” Smith then fumbles around, mumbling about how he was a little surprised, sure, before snapping back into it and admitting that he hadn’t heard the song.

“I haven’t listened to it personally, because I did the Spectre theme song.”
