This week, The Rolling Stones were back where it all began in London to promote the extensive exhibit on their history called "The Rolling Stones: Exhibitism." But amidst all the excitement at the private premiere, it was guitarist Ronnie Wood who ramped up the fervour even further.
“We went to cut some new songs, which we did,” he told USA Today.
When the 68-yeard old was pressed on when the public would get to hear this new material, Wood stated it would be sometime “this year.”
Rock and roll icon Keith Richards, who released his solo record Crosseyed Heart just last year, confirmed the news when he said, “there is one coming,” quickly adding, "I can’t say no more though. My lips are sealed.”
It will be the legendary band's first studio album since 2005’s A Bigger Bang and their 1,123rd (24th) overall.
It has been a big couple of weeks for the Stones as they recently returned from their tour of Latin America where they performed a historic free concert on the island of Cuba. The exhibit looks set to continue with this momentum as it covers five decades of the band’s history at the Saatchi Gallery.
The interactive exhibit will be open to the public from April 5th onwards and includes over 500 pieces from the band’s own archives and that of private collectors around the world. Items on display include everything from musical instruments and outfits to stage designs.
