The Roots co-founder Questlove has been confirmed as providing the score for a new film entitled "Vincent N Roxxy."

The film, which is set to premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival next month, stars Emile Hersch alongside Zoe Kravitz and Kid Cudi. It follows a “small town loner” who falls in love with a female punk rocker while the pair run away together and quickly learn that, “violence follows them everywhere,” according to IMDB.

It is directed by Gary Michael Schultz who is also known for "Devil in My Ride" and the short film "End of June".

It’s not Questlove’s first foray into film scores however, as he also did one for the Chris Rock- featuring comedy "Top Five" back in 2014.

The 45-year old sadly lost his father last week, doo wop artist Lee Andrews. Andrews was the vocalist for a band in the 1950’s called Lee Andrews & the Hearts. Their most famous song was entitled “Long Lonely Nights.”

The Grammy-winning drummer and producer labelled his father as, “the greatest teacher in my life” in a lengthy Instagram post. “I understand why you were so hard on me praying I didn’t succumb to a fate not meant for a teenager in west Philly in the mid 80’s. I didn’t understand it at the time. But I appreciate it now,” he wrote.
