Sean Combs, more famously known as Puff Daddy, has just revealed his plans to open a charter school in New York’s Harlem borough. The Harlem-born rapper and Bad Boy Records founder is teaming with Steve Perry, founder of Capital Preparatory Schools. The two are modeling the Harlem school after Perry’s Capital Preparatory Magnet School in Hartford, Connecticut, which boasts an impressive 100% college acceptance rate.

In a press release, Diddy commented enthusiastically on his venture into education:

“Creating this school is a dream come true for me. I want to impact the lives of young people in my community, and build future leaders. The first step is offering access to a quality education. Every young person should have the tools they need to succeed. All our children should be able to pursue their dreams. That is something I can impact with this school.”

Capital Preparatory Harlem Charter School is currently accepting applications and will be opening this fall.
