It was announced today the British DJ, remixer and producer will team up with Los Angeles-based TV4 Entertainment production company to create the Electronic Music Awards & Foundation (EMAF), the first-ever awards ceremony celebrating electronic music.
The hour-long event is set to air this spring on FOX and is "dedicated to help change the lives of young people in need and shine a light on the next generation of talented DJs, artists, and producers ready to break the mold in electronic music," as stated on the official EMAF website. Billboard.comalso points out the show will focus on raising money and genre awareness by featuring red carpet coverage, awards presentations, interviews and live performances.
The director of the show is no stranger to awards shows either. Russell Thomas has taken the role, whose resume includes producer of the MTV EMA awards show from 2011-2015, as well as producer for the Katy Perry: Part of Me documentary.
