Fans of Berlin's Pantha Du Prince can rejoice today in the news that the enigmatic artist has announced his first solo album in six years. Titled The Triad, it's set to come out on May 20 via Rough Trade. Ahead of the release has come a surprise 12" single, "The Winter Hymn" ft. Queens, is out now.
The album is PDP's first solo record since Black Noise in 2010. In 2013 he collaborated with The Bell Laboratory on Elements of Light.
In a press release, the artist, real name Hendrik Weber, wrote that "Black Noise was very much about me being alone in a small room in Berlin and composing... The Triad opens the structure to more human ways of interacting, not digitized ways of interacting. It's not about Facebook; it's about meeting up and jamming. I wanted to cut through the digital dust that surrounds us."
