The so called "Ghetto Blaster Boombox Collection," comprised of over 300 vintage boomboxes, recently went up for auction. It seems that as a 45 year-old man, Craig Kenton's days of laying out cardboard and busting out break-dancing are over. Hence the New Zealander, who has been collecting ghetto beat-blasters for over 15 years, is hoping to find these babies a new home.

If you're feeling in the mood to fill your garage with more boom then your body has room for, the auction is open on TradeMe, with bids starting at $20,000. According to Kenton, “If I just sold the top 20 they would reach $20,000." He has apparently already had interest in some, but would prefer to keep them together as a collection. What a guy!

Kenton told Stuff, "I feel like the collection is a piece of 80's art, and I hope they go somewhere they can be seen." The collection even includes the JC-200, which features two 10-inch speakers, making it the biggest one-piece radio ever made. Mind you 10-inch speakers on a portable media player was massive for it's day.
