Joseph Mount, Metronomy's founding member, has revealed that he's working on the groups fifth album and that venerated turntablist Mix Master Mike will be featured on at least one new track for the album.
In a recent interview with Q magazine, it was revealed that Mix Master Mike, who worked with the Beastie Boys for several of their biggest hits, will feature on the song "Old Skool," a track dedicated to finding oneself alone at a party and not recognizing anyone.
While talking with Q magazine, Mount described the direction of the new album saying "I just wanted to make an uptempo record ... I wanted to try and do another record that captures that fading memory of being a bit younger and going to clubs, but with the confidence I didn't have then." Mount also described the as-of-yet unnamed album as a pseudo sequel to the band's 2008, sophomore album Nights Out.
If Mount and company are looking to inject even more energy into the upcoming record, enlisting the help of one of the most renowned DJs in the business is probably a good place to start.
