M83 has announced even more dates for their spring and summer world tour. The tour will now feature additional shows in North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia.
The newly expanded itinerary will see M83 supported by YACHT, Børns, Okay Kaya, and Bob Moses. Ontop of this, they will also be appearing alongside Tame Impala at Maryland's Merriweather Post Pavilion.
The tour is in support of M83's impending album Junk, which drops April 8.
With the release of Junk imminent, leader and creative force Anthony Gonzales has been hounded for details and insight on the process of following 2011's Hurry Up, We're Dreaming which produced the platinum single "Midnight City." In recent interviews Anthony Gonzales has discussed his struggle with this generation of music and finding new ways to innovate.
"I feel like we're losing this culture of making things, everything is digital, even in music," Gonzales said in a recent interview with Pitchfork. "Nowadays, everything has already been done before. I truly believe that. It's impossible to come up with something new.”
But despite lamenting the state of modern music Gonzales feels free to experiment and expand on the newest album.
“It's almost like I can do whatever I want now ... The success of [Hurry Up] really helped me to be more true to myself, and even if there's less of me on this album, it's probably my most personal record yet.”
You can check out the expanded tour schedule below and listen to the recently released "Solitude," as we wait for April 8th and for M83 to come to town.
