Four years after the amazing success of their self-titled debut album in 2013, The Lumineers have announced the release of their second album entitled Cleopatra.
The album promises to encompass the signature style The Lumineers established by their first album, highlighted by syncopated piano and chorus sounds, as demonstrated by the single Ophelia, released on February 5.
The Lumineers have now branched out and enlisted producer Simone Felice, who has produced for the Avett Brothers in the past. This acted as a sign that the band is committed to creating something new rather than resting on the success of their first album. However, they are maintaining many of the elements which attributed to their breakthrough success; when asked about the album Wesley Schultz, founder of the band, responded saying, “We took the same approach this time as we did with the first album, recording demos in a small house we rented in the original Denver neighborhood where we first moved."
The Lumineers have also announced a new UK tour including the stops listed below:
Thur Apr 14 – Bristol, O2 Academy
Fri Apr 15 – Glasgow, Barrowlands
Tue Apr 19 – Manchester, Albert Hall
Sat Apr 23 – London, O2 Shepherds Bush Empire
