It feels like it was just a few days ago that a rapper came to the defense of Bill Cosby. Oh, wait… It was. Two days ago, we reported that rapper Waka Flocka had voiced his controversial opinion, claiming that the beloved Dr. Huxtable was being framed for his many sexual assault charges.
Now, we have The Game coming to bat via Instagram, appalled at the allegations, specifically referencing the memes depicting a “man who practically raised us all on tv as children…”
These two weren’t the first to weigh in their thoughts on the subject— in fact, quite a few hip-hop artists have reacted on social media in some way, shape or form. Prior to this hitting online news outlets like Vibe and Hot New Hip-Hop, the Los Angeles rapper went on a posting spree of what appeared to be blank images, in an effort to conduct a social experiment. A large amount of his fans were initially confused, but to some it appeared obvious that he was up to something. After all, he was using the hashtag #SocialExperiment. About twenty-three white pictures in, The Game explains his effort, stating it is “to bring awareness to certain situations that are important to the livelihoods of people negatively affected by social media rather by racism or just pure hate as well as weed out fake ass fans & haters on my page.” In between those images was a series that read out Black Lives Splatter, which was inclusive of his quote on Bill Cosby.
