2016 marks the ninth year in a row that the Sound City Music Festival will be taking place in Liverpool. The festival was awarded Best Metropolitan Music Festival of 2015, and has been known for previously booking The Vaccines, Kodaline, Alt-J, The Kooks, and many other favorites. Although the festival is still months away, it’s not too early to get excited as they just dropped big news regarding the performers!
Part of the lineup has already been released, but Sound City kept true to their word with “more to be announced.” On January 27th they did just that by revealing Catfish & The Bottlemen as a headliner alongside The Coral. It’s particularly interesting to see the return of CATB, as the alternative rock group first played the festival as an unsigned band five years ago.
In addition to Catfish & The Bottlemen, City Sound has also announced Georgia, Palma Violets, Shura, The Big Moon, Kagoule, Dilly Dally, Holy Esque, Mez, and much more. The festival has also revealed they are teaming up with dance music promotes Freeze to bring Hot Chip, Leftfield and 2manydjs to the festival.
