LCD Soundsystem fans must be feeling like it's Christmas already, what with the slew of exciting news from the artists, who until recently were thought to be essentially defunct.
The group first dropped a new single - their first in five years - on Christmas, followed by an announcement that they will be reuniting to headline Coachella alongside a similarly reunited Guns N Roses, as well as Bonnaroo, Primavera Sound and more. Now, Billboard report that the band have signed to Columbia Records - the news was officially announced by Columbia chairman, Rob Stringer, at Billboard's Power 100 event late last week.
As previously reported, are working on a brand new album, their first since 2010. It'll be interesting to see what effect this has on the output, considering that their last album, This Is Happening, came out via their own label DFA Records, a Virgin and Parlophone imprint.
Fronted by James Murphy, the group officially broke up back in April 2011. Billboard went on to report that some fans felt "betrayed" and the group's decision to reform, but we can only assume that the promise of a full new album, and presumably a world tour, will warm their cold hearts.
